                                Dig for the Cure

Coppell was the first high school team in the metroplex to host a Dig for the Cure event and has encouraged other schools to be involved. In 2011, the entire District 7-5A participated in this charity event on the same night.

Coppell players raised more than $14,000 for Komen Dallas County in 2010. This brings the program's total to almost $60,000 over their first 4 years. The majority of the proceeds stay in Dallas County to assist those who cannot afford mammograms or for those in need of treatments for breast cancer. The remaining funds go towards research to help discover a cure for breast cancer.

The “Dig for the Cure” project was founded in 2003 at the University of North Carolina-Charlotte by Head Volleyball Coach Lisa Marston after her mother was diagnosed with breast cancer. High school and college volleyball programs across the country participate annually to raise money to benefit the Susan G. Komen foundation.
